  The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Embassy Suites Hotel, 4800 South Tryon St., near the Billy Graham Parkway. Homicide investigators cordoned off a red Ford Escape with police tape, and a body covered by a white sheet lay on the pavement by the driver's side door.
