Relief for residents after arrest in rapes at apartment complex
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said DNA evidence linked Phillip George Payton, 20, to the attacks at the apartments off Tyvola Road near South Boulevard. And investigators said they are awaiting DNA lab results that they expect will tie him to a third attack that happened at the complex Monday.

Woman charged in fatal crash
The wreck happened about 5:30 a.m. Sept. 23 on East W.T. Harris Boulevard near Kimmerly Glen Drive, police say. At the time, police said it appeared as if the 1990 Toyota Corolla being driven by Rawana was going the wrong way when it hit Mobley's 2006 Toyota Scion.
