5 safe after Dilworth fire
No injuries were reported in the two-alarm blaze, which did an estimated $150,000 damage to a 90-year-old, two-story house in the 300 block of East Boulevard, a short distance east of South Boulevard.

Westridge and Weststone
Grieving father loses a 2nd son to shooting
Last Dec. 11, Hardrick's third-oldest son, Marquiese Thompson, was found shot in the head, lying in the middle of Westridge and Weststone drives, off Freedom Drive. Thompson, a student at Harding High, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in critical condition. He died the next day.
