02 Metro

The Metro Division comprises 13.3 square miles of historic and older communities with diverse populations, including a strong commercial and industrial presence in northwest Charlotte. There are 92 officers, eight sergeants, one investigative technician, and a captain assigned to the division.

• 2900 block of Freedom Drive Assault with a deadly weapon-no injury

  The victim was at the First Citizens Bank ATM when he was approached by (3) B/M suspects. One of the suspects fired a shot at him in an apparent robbery attempt and then fled the scene in a silver vehicle. The victim was not injured.

  The victim was robbed at gunpoint of his backpack while walking in the 2600 block of Marlowe Ave. No injuries.

• Haines St. Rape / sexual assault

  The victim reports being forced into a vehicle and sexually assaulted. The victim was walking to a friends house when a vehicle approached and two B/M suspects pushed her into the vehicle and sexually assaulted her. The victim reports the suspects later pushed her out of the vehicle and she was able to get away. .

  The victim reports being sexually assaulted. The victim reports she was abducted from West Charlotte on Fri. and sexually assaulted. The victims mother filed a missing person, this case was cleared.

• 2900 block of Royston Road Death investigation

  CMPD Homicide Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing at this location involving a known suspect. Media Release has been completed and sent out.

• 3300 block of Statesville Rd Robbery from person—armed

  The victim was walking on the sidewalk along Statesville Ave when a B/M came up behind him and hit him in the knee with a metal pipe. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect hit the victim several more times in the knee area telling the victim to give him his coat. At this time two additional people walked up and told the suspect to stop and leave the victim alone. The suspect walked away with the other people. The victim was transported to CMC. The only description he could provide was a B/M approximately 6'0.

• 900 block of N. Tryon St. Robbery from person—armed

  The victim reported that he was robbed by an unknown person at an unknown location. The victim was extremely intoxicated and could only advise someone placed a gun to his back and demanded his wallet. The victim gave the suspect his wallet. It was determined that the incident occurred under the bridge in the 900 block of N Tryon St. The victim could not provide any description of the suspect. The victim was not injured.

• 200 block of Sylvania Avenue Assault with a deadly weapon-with injury

  A male victim was stabbed in the buttocks and abdomen by a known suspect on the porch of the above address after some type of verbal altercation. The victim sustained serious, but NLT injuries and was transported by Medic to CMC Main. The victim fled on foot in the area. K-9 and the CMPD helicopter responded, but the suspect was not located.

• 2200 block of Senior Drive Robbery from person—armed

  Officers are working a case involving a painter who was working at the school who was accosted by 2 B/M suspects in one of the outside walkways of the school. 1 of the suspects pulled a gun and pushed the victim by the throat up against the wall. The victim fought back and the suspects fled on foot. One of them was captured a short time later and is currently being interviewed. It is suspected that this was either an attempted robbery or an interrupted burglary.

• 1500 block of Enderly Rd. Robbery from person—armed

  The victim reported that he was walking through Enderly Park after leaving a store when a group of B/Ms approached him and asked for a light for a cigarette. The victim advised he did not have one and at this time one of the suspects pulled a knife on the victim and cut the victim in the hand. The victim fell to the ground and the suspects began hitting and kicking the victim. One of the suspects then took the victim¿s wallet from his pocket. The suspects then ran off, last seen running towards Coker Ave. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

• Brookshire Boulevard Accident—personal Injury

  A Ford Explorer was involved in a crash with a CMS school bus. The children on the bus are apparently going to be fine. The driver of the SUV has also declined medical treatment.

• Catherine Simmons Ave. @ Erie Street Assault with a deadly weapon-with injury

  Male victim was transported to CMC to be treated for a NLT gunshot wound to the foot. The victim was uncooperative with officers.

• 100 block of W. Liddell St Assault—physical only

  Victim was assaulted by B/M, bald, 6'-6'2", red shirt, red Jacket. Victim was transported to hospital ref. NLT

• 2200 block of LaSalle Street Robbery from person—armed

  B/M victim advised that as he was sitting on LaSalle Street waiting to turn onto Beatties Ford Road in his Burgundy Jeep Cherokee when 3 B/M suspects surrounded his vehicle. Suspect #1 came to driver's door brandished a black semi-auto pistol and demanded the victim get out of his vehicle. Suspect #2 went to the front passenger door and #3 went to the back of the vehicle. No injuries, no shots fired. Suspects: #1: B/M, 5'9", short hair, light skinned, faint mustache, brownish shirt, blue jeans armed w/ a black handgun. #2: B/M, 5'9", dark skinned, chin length dreads with a black ball cap. #3: B/M, dark skinned, wearing all black. Victim's vehicle was located a short distance away on Celia Ave. K-9 responded and got a small track, but the suspects were not located.

• 2600 block of Beatties Ford Road Robbery from business—armed

  3 B/M suspects wearing masks and scarves to cover their faces entered the Burger King, displayed a gun and the suspects stole money then fled on foot. No shots fired, no injuries. Suspects: #1: B/M, 6'3", black ski mask, gray shirt, black dress pants. #2: B/M, 5'11", black shirt and pants, red bandanna. #3: B/M, 5'9", black mask, shirt and pants. K-9 responded with negative results because of the area.

  The victim reported that a black male in a black shirt and blue jeans attempted to rob them at gunpoint but was unsucessful. The suspect fled from the scene on foot. No injuries.

• 100 block of Beatties Ford Rd. Robbery from person—armed

  The victim reported being robbed at gunpoint by a suspect known to the victim. The suspect is a black male in dark clothing. No injuries.

• 2700 block of Freedom Dr. Robbery from person—armed

  The victim reported being robbed at gunpoint by two black males, one with a multi colored jacket and a mask and the second wearing a white shirt. The suspects fled the scene in a silver Chrysler Sebring. No injuries.

  The victim reported being robbed at gunpoint by three black males in hooded sweatshirts. The suspects had dreadlocks. The suspects fled the scene in a gold Chrysler Sebring. No injuries.

• 3300 block of Dawnshire Avenue Assault—physical only

  CMPD was called to assist in an assault investigation involving an 87 yr old female who was brought to the hospital by a family member. CMPD was advised that the injury was several days old and that the victim had other injuries that warranted an investigation. Family Services and DSS are assisting with this investigation.

• 2000 block of North Graham Street Robbery from person—armed

  Three BM suspects robbed the victim at gunpoint. The suspects fled the area in a green Kia.

• 1100 block of Hoskins Rd. Assault with a deadly weapon-with injury

  The victim stated that he was standing in the parking lot of the Busy Bee in the 1100 block of Hoskins Rd when he was approached by an unknown black male suspect. The suspect asked him for a cigarette, and the victim advised that he did not have one. The suspect then left, and came back with two other black male suspects who attacked the victim, pulled his sweatshirt over his head, and cut him with a razor at some point during the altercation. The victim does not know the suspects, and he took off running away from the scene. The victim was treated for minor wounds at the hospital. The victim did not have any property taken from him.

• 2700 block of Freedom Dr. Robbery from person—armed

  The victim was filling his car with gas when the suspect approached him, with a gun, and robbed him of his car. The vehicle was located by officers a short time later, but the suspect was not apprehended. The victim decided against prosecution once his car was recovered.

  Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting at 2745 Freedom Drive. The victim of the shooting was pronounced dead at the scene.

• 2600 block of Southwest Blvd. Robbery from person—armed

  The victim reported being robbed at gunpoint by (2) B/M suspects who fled the area on foot. No injuries.

• 3300 block of Hassem Court Fight

  Large fight/crowd out in the area in front of the apartment complex. About 50 people were involved in the fight. 3 people were arrested during the incident. An officer was injured during one of the arrests. Injury is minor to the knee.

• 3100 block of Freedom Dr. Robbery from business—armed

  The Freedom Business Center was the victim of an attempted armed robbery by two black males wearing all black clothing with one of the suspects being 5'7" with a thin mustache. The suspects were not able to get anything and fled on foot. No injuries.
