07 North Tryon

The North Tryon Division comprises nearly 13.4 square miles of historic and older communities, including a strong commercial and industrial presence in north Charlotte. There are 83 officers, eight sergeants, one investigative technician and a captain assigned to the division.

• 6300 block of Countryside Dr. Robbery from person—armed

  The victim reported that the suspect robbed them at knifepoint and stabbed the victim in the leg. The suspect also suffered a stab wound from fighting with the victim. The victim knows the suspect. Both the victim and the suspect were taken to the hospital for treatment of a NLT injury.

• 7200 block of Barrington Dr. Assault with a deadly weapon-no injury

  Incident reported as a shots fired call. A male victim reports being assaulted in the 7200 block area of Barrington Dr. This indiv. got friends of his and returned to the area. Shots were fired between the two groups, several vehicles were hit and two apartments were hit. There were no reported injuries. A suspect vehicle was stopped and several subjects are being questioned. ADW Unit was advised.

• 3600 block of Frew Road Robbery from person—strong arm

  The male victim was sitting in a vehicle watching a DVD when 3 B/M suspects approached, one opened the door, punched the victim in the face, drug him out of the vehicle and all 3 suspects jumped into the vehicle and drove away. The vehicle that was taken was a black BMW 740 with a 30 day tag. Victim sustained minor injuries from the assault and refused medic.

  The victim reported that they were robbed at gunpoint by two black males in all black clothing. The suspects fled on foot. No injuries.

  The victim was stabbed several times by a former aquaintance. The suspect is a black female that is known to the victim. The victim was transported to CMC for treatment of NLT injuries.

  P2189 was operating PDA 069 and was involved in an accident resulting in property damage only.

• 2000 block of Canterwood Dr. Robbery from person—armed

  The victim reported that they were robbed at gunpoint by three black males in all black clothing. The suspects took the victim's 2002 Kia bearing NC YWR 4768. No injuries.

• 100 block of Eastway Drive Assault with a deadly weapon-with injury

  This incident occurred at the La Zima Club located at 111 Eastway Drive. The male victim was shot twice while standing outside of the club by unknown suspect(s) who fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim was transported to CMC with NLT injuries.

• 400 block of Eastway Drive Accident in roadway—property damage

  Eastway Drive will be closed until about 10 pm due to an accident involving a sanitation truck hitting a utility pole and knocking down wires. Eastway will be closed from Tryon Street to The Plaza.

• 6000 block of Eastway Drive Robbery from person—strong arm

  This case is DV related. The victim was had and argument/altercation with her ex-boyfriend at which time he assaulted her and took her purse, and fled in a gold Cadillac. Victim sustained minor injuries. Officers followed up on this case and were able to sign warrants on the suspect for felony common law robbery. Suspect: Yusuf Montgomery, B/M, 11/2/88 was arrested. Robbery notified.

• 4500 block of North Tryon Street Robbery from person—strong arm

  The B/F victim was pushed down by a B/M suspect who then took her purse and fled on foot. The suspect was 6', late teens, early 20's, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. The victim sustained minor injuries and was not transported. K-9 responded, but the track ended with negative results because of the area.

• 1100 block of W. Sugar Creek Road Assault with a deadly weapon-with injury

  The victim was shot in the leg during a robbery and was transported to CMC with NLT injuries. The suspect, a masked B/M armed with a handgun, fled the area on foot.

• 63100 block of Countryside Dr. Robbery from person—armed

  The Comp. reports three unknown suspects came to his apartment and after being invited inside, an unknown suspect pulled out a handgun and put it to his side and took his wallet. The suspects then ran from the scene, no direction of travel.

  The victim advised that he was stabbed in the back by an unknown suspect at Club Risas located at 5542 N. Tryon Street. He was treated for NLT injuries at CMC.

  The victim reported that she was sexually assaulted while at a friends residence.

• 6000 block of The Plaza Robbery from business—armed

  The business was robbed by a light skinned BM wearing a gray hoodie. He has tattoos on the left side of his neck. He is described as short, with facial hair. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle, possibly a Kia minivan. The suspect was arrested in Eastway Division. A detective with the Robbery Unit is on scene.

• 4800 block of N. Graham St Stolen vehicle

  Officers responded to the above address regarding a call for suspects tampering with a vehicle. Officers pursued the suspects on foot, and with the assistance of K9 were able to arrest 2 suspects. One was 16 years old, and the other a juvenile. Auto theft detectives responded.

• 4500 block of North Tryon Street Robbery from business—armed

  Advance Auto Parts reported that it was robbed by a man armed with a gun. The suspect was wearing a mask and is described as tall; the second suspect is described as short, with dreads and wearing a black hoodie and black pants. The K-9 Unit assisted with a track but was unable to locate either suspect.

  The victim reported that they were robbed at gunpoint by three black male suspects in dark clothing. The suspects fled in a gray older model Ford Crown Victoria. No injuries.

• Countryside Drive & W. Arrowhead Drive Robbery from person—armed

  H/M victim was approached and robbed at gun point of cash by 2 B/M suspects. One of the suspects hit the victim in the head. Victim was very intoxicated and is being transported to the hospital w/ NLT injuries. Suspects were both dressed in all black, both armed with handguns and they fled the area on foot. No shots fired.

  The Gold Palacios Mexican Restaurant and Bar was robbed at gunpoint by (2) H/M armed with handguns. The suspects fled the scene in a dark colored SUV. No injuries.

  2 B/M suspects, 1 wearing a white jacket and 1 of which was armed with a gun entered Sake Japanese Express and took money from the register. Unknown which way the suspects went when they left, whether on foot or in a vehicle. No injuries, no shots fired.

  The victim reported that he was robbed of his cell phone at gunpoint by (3) H/M suspects who fled the area in a dark colored SUV.

  H/M victim exited the convenience store and was hit in the face by a B/M suspect, while a second B/M suspect took money from the victim's hand. The victim sustained minor injuries to his face, but will need stitches. Suspects fled on foot.

  The Wendy's restaurant was robbed at gunpoint by a black male suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask and black gloves. The suspect fled the scene in a two door burgandy Ford Explorere that was occupied by three other black males. No injuires.
