Assault with a deadly weapon-with injury
(2) B/M suspects forced entry into the victims residence and shot one of the occupants. The victim was transported to the hospital with NLT injuries. The suspects fled the area on foot.

Accident-fatality
Officers are scene of a traffic fatality involving a pedestrian. Initial indications are that the pedestrian was walking in the middle of the road in an area where there is no cross walk and no close side streets. North Tryon Street will be closed from Pavillion Boulevard to the county line until further notice. The HITS Unit is on scene conducting the investigation.

Robbery from business—strong arm
Wachovia was robbed by a BM suspect who fled the scene in a black Honda Civic. The suspect fled onto I-77 North. North Division officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the suspect refused to stop; CMPD officers then initiated a pursuit. Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol eventually took the suspect into custody in Gaston County.

A bomb threat has been called in to Bright Horizons Daycare. The building has been evacuated and all of the children are safe and accounted for. The CFD is on scene as well assisting CMPD officers. Update at 12:30 p.m.: no suspicious devices or packages were found.

The McDonalds was robbed at gunpoint by a black male suspect, black baseball hat, black hooded sweatshirt and a clear mask. The suspect fled the scene in a gold Ford Explorer that was occupied by three other black males. No injuries.

The suspects took the victim's 2007 Infiniti M35 bearing NY DWW1969. The suspects fled in the stolen car. No injuries.

The victim was walking along the 1900 block of W. Sugar Creek Rd. when a red two door vehicle (possibly a camaro) stopped behind him. A suspect exited, pulled out a chrome pistol, and robbed the victim of his cell phone. The suspect was about 5'10" / 140 lbs with dreadlocks. The suspect jumped back into the passenger seat of the car, and the car left. No injuries.

Hit and Run collision at the intersection of N. Tryon St. and Salome Church Rd. A passenger was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. The driver and a second passenger were transported with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended, with the assistance of the helicopter, a short time and distance later. He was also transported to the hospital.
